ICE-SA (A Joint Division of ICE and SAICE) is hosting its Annual General Meeting for 2011 on 17 October 2011 at the Bytes Technology Centre in Midrand.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE ICE-SA COMMITEE
The committee calls for nominations to be submitted by no later than 14 October 2011. Should you wish to nominate a person to the committee, please use the attached Nomination Form, complete, sign and fax or e-mail the completed form to the ICE-SA Secretary by no later than 12h00 on 14 October 2011.

The Annual General Meeting will be followed by an afternoon lecture:

THE COMPETITIONS COMMISSION – HOW SAFE ARE YOU?
17 October 2011

The afternoon lecture will provide insight into the impact of the Competitions Commission on the Construction Industry, and how generally accepted practices can result in investigation by the Competitions Commission.

The lecture will be presented by Mr Paul Cleland, who is a Director of Werksmans Attorneys, and specialises in Competition Law in South Africa. His main focus areas are:

    obtaining of approval for mergers and takeovers from the relevant authorities
    conducting compliance audits and developing compliance programmes, including search and seizure (dawn raid) guidelines and "mock" dawn raid preparedness
    competition law advice on alleged anti-competitive conduct e.g. cartels, abuse of dominant position and price discrimination

* ICE-SA will apply to have the event accredited for CPD Credits

The Event will be followed by a cocktail function and cash bar to network with others in the industry.
